How to post my items?
It's super easy. Simply do the following:
- Tap the "Sell" button on the homepage
- Take some nice pictures of your item under good lighting with a plain background
- Describe your item and set the amount you wish to get in return
Once you have posted your item, do respond to questions from potential buyers in the comments.
How to ship my order?
FreeUp will arrange a courier partner who will pick up the item from your doorstep and deliver to the buyer across India. After you get an order, you can arrange free pick up directly from the app. Pickup agents will usually call you within 1-2 days from the date you request for pickup.
If you have access to a printer: We will provide you a link to print the shipping label. Stick the label onto your parcel. If you don't have a printer, you can also choose manual writing option (However this option takes longer to deliver to buyer).
How to pack: It is important that your item is packed well, and suitable to be transported across India. Regular courier bags (similar to Amazon delivery bags) are generally suitable for most non-fragile items e.g. books, clothing, soft toys, etc.
How to activate selling in cash?
FreeUp works on user reputation. As buyers prefer to buy from cash sellers with positive ratings, new users are required to ship the first 5 orders in Coins and build up their seller rating. You will be eligible to post for cash after shipping at least five orders with a user rating of 4.0 and above. Self pickup and virtual item orders will not be counted under these 5 orders.
Good rating makes selling for cash and everything else on FreeUp A LOT easier.
How to sell my items faster?
Your items will sell faster if you have:
a. High rating, good reviews: If you have delivered your orders satisfactorily without any complaints from the buyers, you will receive high rating. Buyers also write positive reviews if they are happy with the experience provided by you.
b. Good Reputation: In order to build a good reputation, follow these simple steps:
- Be transparent in your listing:upload photos from all angles, describe flaws(if any), add proofs of brand labels/sizes or tags (if any)
- Fast replies: If users ask you anything in the comments, try to reply faster so that the buyers don’t lose interest.
- Fair Pricing: Price your items fairly, don’t overcharge for anything. It is key to provide value for money.
- Low Cancellation Rate: If an item is not available for sale or you’re not willing to ship due to some reason, make the item unavailable as soon as you can, instead of canceling frequently. Avoid canceling your item after it has been bought, if you do, it will provide a bad customer experience and result in lower credibility for you.
c. Upload items regularly: Spread across your posts throughout the week instead of posting too many items at one go. Example, upload 2 items in 5 days so your posts are featured on the feed to different users everyday
d. Boost your items: Boost is a feature using which, you can rank your items higher on the feed.
You can boost by going to your profile > Selling Tab.
Eligibility of boosting coins or cash items:
You need a minimum rating of 4.0 stars on your profile
Item should be attractively priced
Your post should not violate any community guidelines.
Price of Boosting Items:
1. Coins Items = 30 coins
2. Cash items = 50 coins
How to get my earnings when I sell?
No fee, no commission - you keep 100%!
If you sold for Coins -
- You will receive full Coins within a few hours after pickup is done.
If you sold for cash -
- If the buyer gives a positive rating, the payout will be released within 24 hours of the review. The payment link will be available in "My Cash Payments" section the next day at 8am. You will get a notification for the same
- If the buyer does not provide a rating for 3 days after delivery, the payout will be released on the 4th day at 8am
- In the rare case that the buyer raises a dispute against the order within 3 days of delivery, (such as item not as advertised by seller), then the pay out will be released after dispute is investigated by the FreeUp team within 48 hours.

Items over 1kg -
- If declared in your post, buyer will bear the extra shipping cost

How does the Coin system work?
At FreeUp, Coins are similar to shopping credits. You can sell your pre-loved items for FreeUp Coins and then use the Coins to buy something from other community members. You can also use Coins for any of the following purposes:
- Get cash discounts on brand vouchers from 200+ brands like Myntra, Swiggy, BigBasket etc.
- Boost your posted items to rank them higher in the feed to increase the views.
- If you’re a trusted seller who has shipped more than 2 items and bought at least 1 item, then you can even get a chance to convert your coins to cash.

Can I convert Coins to cash?
Yes. You can convert coins to cash if you have shipped a minimum of 2 items and earned a rating of more than 3.5 stars. In order to convert your coins, go to the Coins Page, on the top right corner of your screen.
Click on the link to sell your coins. On this page, you’ll be able to see the eligible coins to sell. Eligible Coins to Sell = The coins you have earned by selling items to other members.
You can make an offer to sell your coins by entering the number of coins you want to sell and the amount of money you want to earn for those coins.
Once you place an offer to buy coins, those coins will be blocked for sale and your offer will be matched with a seller in our community with a matching offer. The match is based on price per coin only. Even if a seller is selling less or more coins than your offer, you would still get a match. Remember, FreeUp’s top sellers don’t treat selling coins as a guaranteed way of earning cash on FreeUp. They focus on selling items for a fair price and try their luck at selling coins every now and then, after they’re done buying items using coins or boosting their items for coins.
